Last night i had my first proper visionary experience on salvia. I had tried it a couple of times before but had under-dosed and only experienced bodily sensations and a feeling that my head was expanding.. which was not altogether unpleasant but i wanted more. I used to use LSD and mushrooms a lot some years back so knew what a strong trip was like, and wanted to experience something like the same levels of consciousness with salvia. It was past midnight, no chance of any unexpected callers, i had consumed about 2 thirds of a bottle of wine and felt comfortable and relaxed. I loaded a small bowl with a generous pinch of 15x and sparked up. I held the first lung-full for about 15 seconds. I felt the effects coming on as i inhaled the second lung-full.. so have no idea how long i held the second puff for as time started to become distorted. As i lay back on the couch i was gripped by an intense sensation of some sort of energy flowing through me. This was not a random flow either, it seemed to be taking a pre-determined path which started in my groin area then flowed up my torso and out the top of my head, at which point it then arched back downwards in the air in front of me towards my groin and the whole cycle started again. At the same time, the energy was also flowing in the exact opposite direction: down my torso and out of my groin area then arching back up towards my head. This was a very real physical feeling and was not unpleasant. I started to visualize the energy as large metal cogs, the likes of which may be found in the internal workings of a clock. The cogs were penetrating my body and directing the flow of energy. There was very much a ''circular'' feeling to the energy flow. As the cogs continued to direct the energy flow i could see now images and scenes within the framework of the cogs themselves. I have no idea if my eyes were open or shut at this point. The scenes were not particularly psychedelic in nature but did follow a definite visual pattern and seemed to present themselves within a strict geometric framework which kept repeating itself in time with the energy flow. The scenes themselves were of everyday sights: suburban residential areas with modest bungalows.. an ice cream van.. an old man trimming his garden hedge on a sunny afternoon.. kids playing football in the street.. all the time repeating themselves over and over as if caught in some kind of loop. I began to feel overwhelmed that i was caught in a loop and anxiety began to creep in, but i was able to relax myself with the notion that i was safe at home on my couch and it would all be over in 5 mins or so. Still, the scenes and visions seemed VERY real and i had a strange feeling that i was able to communicate in some way with persons in the scenes. It felt like i was ACTUALLY there although i knew i was not... or was i ?
Gradually the the imagery and bodily sensations began to subside and i could feel myself slipping back to normal consciousness. The feeling of actually ''being there'' wore off and before long i was back on my couch with a feeling of relaxed acceptance that i had made it into THE ZONE. Holy shit.. how could this stuff POSSIBLY be legal... was my first thought. My second thought was.. I wanna do it again. I looked at the clock on my computer screen.. about 7 minutes had elapsed, but it felt like it had only been about 30 seconds. I considered what had just taken place: the scenes were somewhat familiar to me in as much as they were typical of my country and culture.. but i did not know where the scenes were or who the people were in them. Were they memories that had been long forgotten or were they glimpses of the future.. who knows ? Maybe they were just archetypal images of my culture. I was content that i had experienced a 'proper' trip and now had utmost respect for the Salvia.. which i promptly loaded into the pipe and did the whole darn thing again.. with much the same results.
I will continue to experiment with Salvia and will post the results of my experiences on here.
Thanks for reading.
