i've never tripped before and i wanted to know what its like. me and my friend picked up 30x salvia at a smoke shop and went back to his house to try it. my friend tripped first and was terrified the entire time. after his trip he said he never wanted to do it again. i was hesitant to try it and was worried i would have a bad trip as well. i took a hit from my bong and started to trip while i was exhaling. i started to see a very disfigured image of my friends face. then it was like i lost my sense of reality and self being. i no longer recognized myself as a conscious living thing. i then realized that the whole world was a part of a much bigger world and our world only represented a small piece of matter from someones shoe. as the shoe took steps i could see my friends disfigured face and it felt like the steps were crushing the world. when the trip began to end it felt like there was pressure on my entire body. it was difficult to move and i still wasn't sure what was going on or who i was. i crawled to the floor, wiped the sweat off my forehead, and took off my hoodie. i went back to the couch and laid down. i felt really tired and just laid there until i began to realize what just happened. it was a very scary and uncomfortable experience.

No salvia trip is "typical," but what you described has many of the same characteristics of a lot of trips.

The next time you do salvia, it won't be quite as scary. You and your friend got past the most unsettling part of it, and that is stepping into unknown territory. When you do it again, you will have some idea of what is going on, and you can "ride the wave," so to speak.

All trips are different. Some trips challenge (i.e., scare) you, and some some are fun, others are deep and meaningful. Nonetheless, you will always get something from it.

If you can surrender to the flow, then it can be amazing.
